Why It Works

🧴 1. Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV)

  • Acidic pH helps break down mineral deposits, soap scum, and grease.
  • Has natural antibacterial and antifungal properties (though not as strong as chemical disinfectants).
  • The acetic acid in ACV dissolves grime and helps neutralize odors.
  • Slightly milder than white vinegar, so better for surfaces with finishes or mild sensitivities.

🧼 2. Dish Soap

  • Cuts through grease and oil-based dirt.
  • Helps lift and suspend particles so they can be wiped away easily.
  • Boosts the cleaning power of vinegar by working on surfaces vinegar doesn’t break down as well (like greasy stovetops).

🌿 3. Essential Oils (like tea tree, lemon, lavender, etc.)

  • Add natural fragrance and can make the cleaner more pleasant to use.
  • Many essential oils have antibacterial, antifungal, or even antiviral properties.
    • Tea tree: Antifungal, antibacterial
    • Lemon: Degreasing, antimicrobial
    • Lavender: Antibacterial, calming scent

💧 4. Water

Helps spread the mixture evenly when sprayed.

Dilutes the vinegar and soap to make the solution safe for most surfaces.
