Easy Oven Brisket

Simple brisket recipe you can cook in the oven, that turns out great every time! All you need is a rub and some broth. My homemade seasoning salt works great in the rub and homemade BBQ sauce will be a great addition to your brisket meal.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 4 lbs. brisket
  • 1 1/2 cup broth
  • 2 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 1 tbsp Garlic Powder
  • 1 tbsp Onion Powder
  • 1 tbsp sugar cane sugar
  • 1 tbsp seasoning salt

Equipment

  • 1 roasting pan with lid

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Combine the chili powder, salt, garlic powder, onion powder, sugar, and seasoning salt in a bowl, and mix thoroughly to create a rub.
  3. Apply rub to surface of brisket and place in a roasting pan.
  4. Cook brisket, uncovered, in preheated oven for 1 hour.
  5. Remove from oven and add broth to roasting pan. Lower oven temperature to 300 degrees, cover roasting pan with the lid, and cook 3 more hours.
  6. Remove from the oven and let the brisket rest 30 minutes before slicing.

Notes

Leftovers are great for French dip sandwiches or brisket tacos.
