Flour tortillas from scratch

Ingredients
  

  • 3 cups All-purpose Flour
  • 3 tbsp Lard
  • 1 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1 cup warm water

Equipment

  • 1 griddle/skillet
  • 1 rolling pin
  • 1 scale

Method
 

  1. Knead all ingredients together in mix with dough hook or hands
  2. Tear into a dozen golf ball size chunks or weight out 60 -64 grams per dough ball. Roll between your hands to create a ball
  3. place onto greased tray, cover and let them rest for 15 minutes
  4. dip one at a time into a little flour and use rolling pin to roll them out approximately 5-6 inches in diameter
  5. Heat griddle to medium high temperature and add tortilla
  6. cook each side for 45 - 60 seconds or until light brown spots form
  7. Place between towels to keep warm
